I started playing in 2019 and played in all but maybe 1 or 2 leagues. I made more currency this league than in the 5 years before combined. The main reason is the currency exchange. I hate trading, and for a long time simply refused to do it. The fact that I can just get all my scarabs from and sell most of my drops to Faustus (farming Harbinger) is just so gratifying.

If only people actually played the game instead of writing on reddit lol. Pretty sure most people who are hooked on this game are doing exactly the same and just getting lucky at times doing any content they enjoy. Might be daily exposure to posts like "I've got a mirror" made some posters completely unrealistic and living in their own world.

This makes me realise how bad I am at poe, probably several thousand hours in and this was the first league where I made a mirror (lucky drop). Always been able to make okay currency but never really been able to make good d/hr outside sanctum even following guides I always feel I just am not quite hitting the good profit

It was the opposite for me started in Synthesis. I would try a few ones then be confused so you just grind maps all day? And think it's boring. Then when they introduced the Atlas passive tree now i had some motivation in getting all the shiny new points but still not really hooked in the end game. But this league for some reason i'm hooked. After years i started learning and looking videos and i realized there is a ton of non maps content now. I can do blight, expedition, heist all day and never touch a map!

1500 hours in game and some of my long sessions I don't even map for one hour. Instead I'm seeking upgrades and tweaking my build for hours.

Don't just talk people like me out of existance. Campain is cool. You have to adapt. You have to push buttons. You interact with gear, flasks, skill points, different gems etc. Once you have a farming strategy set up you turn off your brain and repeat the same thing over again.

idk why people are confused about how he made this much as a new player, my first league was affliction and i made 3 mirrors in the last two weeks (I played standard for 2 weeks before starting affliction). I picked up on the game super fast and also played a lot.

That's not even a noob tho, a true noob would struggle in white/yellow maps with no currency. This guy did his research and understood the game quickly. I've seen a first time player in necropolis in global 1 that made 15 mirrors. He said he watched a couple yt vids and blasted maps, gambad and bossing. But he DID watch something and understood concepts ,because otherwise its impossible to make that much money by just "playing". I'm in the same boat as these guys but I play for a long time. I farmed around 7 mirror shards by playing super early into the league with even a bad build. My issue is that I dont play a lot so that reduces my profits, but im very aware of that. But once again, I knew certain strats, I understand my build and it just feels very simple to just "play", whereas a noob has no clue what he's doing and stays poor forever.

one does not 10divs an hr running 8 mod JV lol. unless super lucky lol. Confirmed he got lucky with mirror shards, hh card and power runes and no lifed it.

Play the game and stick to a strat or two and you will see profit and big upgrades. I swear the poe reddit is so toxic and think its impossible to make currency or learn the game, but they follow strats every streamer is doing and pour tons of currency into it, just to be disappointed when they find out they cant properly run it or switch again when another strategy comes around. STICK TO A STRAT YOU ARE COMFY WITH ITS NOT THAT HARD.

It keeps amazing me how people on reddit are so incredibly bad at the game. All you have to do is some research and actually play the game, it's really not that hard. If you want to learn by your own, that's completely fine too, but don't accuse new players that actually research and play the game instead of afking in hideout of cheating just cause you are bad LMAO

i did abys for fun with the scarab were some hoard spawn... felt like playing pacman ( had no spell to spamm to open the hoards with caster mastery) maps took like 5 min but gave around 30k gold (t16). it isnt a strategy to recommand but it was quite fun for a few h. found 2 divs just from open hoards and around 60 corrupted 5-6 modded abys jewels.

I started play PoE in 3.23 (Affliction League). At the beginning, i coudnt understand pretty much nothing about the game, i coudn t gain any voidstone and i farmed like 3 divs. But slowly, i started to understand the basics, thanks to a lot of valuable content creator. In 3.24, i obtained al 4 voidstones and cleared mi first t17. In 3.25, i rushed the atlas competition and on day 4 i had all my voidstones and i was blasting T17s. People, just take your time to undestrand the game, and u will make a ton of currency.

i was 8 mod farming and unbelivable 2 mirror drop from strong boxes, gave one to the guild and build this poe ninja builds FriteusenFummlerFlo

I feel a lot of people have issues with persistence. You can get shit done with this game if you just keep playing it rather than get discouraged or reroll all the time. I used to do that too, but you know, if you stick to it and upgrade your character you can get at least a decent amount of bank each day. I did some chilling essence strat this time around, nothing fancy and not great margins but ez to do for the build I had and not too many things to trade and pick up and I got my headhunter and a new build with it eventually

I got insanely lucky and pulled a headhunter in a wretched set my first league (Heist) I got scared and sold it immediately lol (don’t ask me why I was young, dumb, and broke)

I think poe is just like lol, if you go blind on it you will progress slower and obviously die to the tower running straight to it, but if you find good guides and learn quicly, you can figure things out fast

Had the same issue with a few people in my current guild which is from my friend. Started my first ever league in Ancestor and had an lv99 Boneshatter including a Mageblood. They all couldnt believe that this was legit. But little did they know, i watched a shit ton of videos, consumed every content i could find and farmed the shit out of delve. Didnt do anything else besides farming sulfite in maps. After i found out i could sell all my resonators and Fossils at TFT with a lot more profit i had a lot of money all the time. I always hated the mentality from my mates that you have to at least do 10div/h. They switched there atlas around 100 times bc things didnt work out. Maybe i had a few 1-2div/h sessions, then i dropped a big Aul, but it didnt matter much to me, because everything did add up.. So yeah hands down to this guy, just having fun and farming a lot.

Well the crop shipments were giga-nerfed and outside of that he got really really lucky. There have been plenty of hilariously obvious RMT posts on reddit and this guy doesn't even come close to those.

I got MB in my first league and some other upgrades to the build in a similar price pool. I haven't got that much currency since then. When you are new, you are kinda more addicted to the game. After that, you've also had the mega currency one time, so you are less motivated to get it again.

necropolis was also my first proper league, and I also had farmed around 200 divs with rf last league. Its so easy to follow and yes it takes time, but it was really enjoyable to me

He said that while doing his Atlas he got 1 mirror shard and 2 power runes plus a Doctor, I understand that people are skeptical, that's a increadibly lucky start. There's to say he played non stop for two weeks most people don't invest that much time outside streamers. One of the big hurdle for new players is having gear good enough to do farm strats, and with all this drops and probably a good guide that tell him exaclty what to buy I can believe it.

Honestly? People who can't make currency in a trade league are trash, even more so trash when you consider that the new auction house is free divines when you have gold. They should rather play something else instead of wasting their time on PoE

27:24 I agree. I had a wild Mirror drop in Act 10 Ossuary in 3.22 or 3.23. And like you said, I don't know how to make use of currencies so I just held on to it. Didn't invest. And just like in this guys case, just being lucky, and with too much money, you may not be that scared to spend a portion of it on upgrading. And when you were talking about Wealthy Exile, he mentioned how he sold tattoo that he didn't know he had. I mean, from my understanding, the farming strategies are like 'passive' wealth source, and pick up loots, and evaluate your total profit with Wealthy Exile. Did these people never get lucky in PoE, a heavy RNG based game where map generation, monster types, monster rarity, crafting, all that. Basically mostly everything except passives and altas tree are the only things that are quite static?

My first league was Affliction. I actually started about a month into it. After a week or two getting to endgame and getting my bearings with the game, I was looking around and saw that the meta farm was the juiced Deli MF maps. I didn't have a build for that, but saw Deli Orbs were like 3-4 to a div depending on the type. So I ran a few hundred white maps with a Deli tree, rushing to get 4 rewards and kill the boss to get it to 5, dropping 1-3 deli orbs per map. And then I had a Mageblood in my first month of playing the game.

What an absolute chad gamer. The part I love about this story most is how much this guy has taught himself by simply observing and following instructions clearly. Meanwhile Reddit soy boys still standing in their hideout asking global chat for chromatic orbs

I understand that guy... There's a lot of leaguestarter guides, currency strategies and stuff, but u can hardly find guides showing how to get form leaguestarter to endgame build, so u can easily start to struggle to upgrade ur build even if u have the money for it. So bad i get bored from grinding kinda easily so i keep chilling in hideout, watching videos all the time, i got some lucky drops this league too and a good supply of divines from kingsmarch.

sounds like he got a bit lucky with shipments to get a nice bootstrap going, but overall nothing that crazy for how much time he put in.

Imagine a guy following a guide correctly and asking for help
